Bafana Bafana assistance coach tested for Covid-19.

The Bafana Bafana assistance coach, Janeskvi Cedomir, has tested positive for Covid-19.  

According to a statement released by SAFA, the Bafana Bafana medical team has conducted their second Covid-19 tests on Tuesday for the entire team ahead of their friendly match against Uganda on Thursday. This game would kick-off at 6 pm in the Orlando Stadium.

When Covid-19 tests came out, the Bafana Bafana assistant coach, Janevski Cedomir, tested positive while the rest of his colleagues and players tested negative. 

The squad doctor, Tshepo Molobi, said they would continue to monitor everyone in the camp.   

 "We continue to check for clinical symptoms and encourage the staff to wear masks without failure, practice social distance, and everyone is accommodated separately.’’ 

Last week, the medical team has also ruled out six players who tested positive for the Covid-19. Among those players includes Pacy Tau, Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbuli, Mosa Lebusa, Mothobi Mvala, and Rivaldo Coetzee.

Spain thrashed Switzerland 3-1 to reach the Semi-Finals

Mdunge Skhumbuzo Spain has defeated Switzerland 3-1 in the penalty shoot-out to advance in the Semi-Finals. After an enthralling match that ended 1-1 at the Krestovsky stadium, Switzerland went to extra time with the one man down after Romo Freuler (a defensive midfielder) received a red card in the 77th minute. In the semi-finals, Spain will face Italy, which also defeated Belgium to advance in the next round.  The Spanish coach, Luis Enrique, said he still believes they are one of the favorites teams who can win the trophy. "I always said, we were one of the favorite teams who can win the trophy, but of course that is going to depend on our performance. Now, we're in the last four, and that is fantastic. eThekwini closed shops affects the dispossession of taxis quantum.

Mdunge Skhumbuzo The eThekwini closed shops have caused fewer people to arrive  in the city. The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) in KwaZulu Natal has conducted a meeting on Wednesday evening to discuss a way forward to prevent their taxi quantum from being dispossessed. eThekwini shops were looted by enraged protesters following the arrest of Jacob Zuma that took place on 07 July 2021. Santaco Office manager, Sfiso Shangase, said the taxi commuters are like bosses to them.  "We are hugely affected ... Those who work in the looted shops are like bosses to us. The customers who buy in these looted shops are like bosses to us. So, that means, if I was waking up five taxis a day, now because of this situation, we end up waking one or two taxis a day."
